What to wear
The most important thing that can make or break your photoshoot is clothing. What to wear for a single portrait, family shot, etc? How can the kids be dressed? Here are some sample clothing boards and color palettes to jump-start you as you plan your family’s clothing. For fall, I’m loving warm tones like blush, burnt orange, and mustard! Keep scrolling for more general clothing tips below the boards.

Color code
I don't have code color clothes, feel free and creative. Listen to your inside. “Don’t be afraid of a little color! You don’t have to go overboard, but picking up bold colors from a more subtle outfit for a pop of color can look amazing. For example, if dad is wearing a plaid shirt, draw one color from it and have one child wear a pop of that color.”

General portrait outfits
1. Prefer solid colors, they put more focus on you, the subject. A darker color will not help you to POP out.
2. Avoid patterns, logos, brands, graphics, and illustrations.
3. Simple is better
4. If you want to wear glasses, we should discuss it. I might ask you to remove the lenses!
5. Stick with what you already own, love, and feel comfortable with. Select clothes that make you confident, and unstoppable.
6. Dress comfortably according to the weather.
7. Think about the location: match the surroundings and your activities there (ex: climbing Table Mountain)
8. Mind your neckline: when selecting a shirt or a top be aware of how it fits, avoid a plunging neckline that shows off any cleavage. I'd also make sure to not wear a turtleneck or a collar that is too loose or too tight.
9. Bring multiple outfits: I might notice something that makes one piece better than another according to the location. Try to do variations in the lengths, textures, and colors, a mix of casual, formal, or in between. For women, a scarf is often useful! Bring hair ties or hair clips in case of wind.
10. Minimize jewelry: try to wear pieces that are small and minimalist.
11. Take your phone and keys out of your pockets and keep them in your bag.
